Welcome to Jayhawk Performance Club

Testing – Training – Prevention

The Jayhawk Performance Club (JPC) provides sports performance testing, strength and conditioning programing, and injury prevention for youth sports teams. Testing, training, and prevention assessments will be designed specifically for the sport, but also for overall athletic development. JPC testing, training, and prevention activities can be performed either in the YES Center or off campus. JPC faculty will collaborate with club team coaches to identify appropriate testing, training, and prevention programming. Costs for the club/athlete will be reasonable and depend upon testing, training, etc.

Sports performance testing can include body composition, muscular strength and endurance, sprinting speed along with sport specific measurements. Advanced sport performance measurements can be conducted, such as, force plates to measure vertical jump performance, sprinting speed with timing gates, ball tracking technology to assess throwing and hitting velocity, motion capture systems to quantify skill proficiency, etc.

The JPC can assist in designing and implanting strength and conditioning programs. The programs can be tailored for the sport. All programing will also build a foundation for further athletic development for each athlete. Training will be performed in the YES Center with days and times that work best for the team.

JPC can conduct assessments to identify potential risk factors for injuries. Functional movement screens among other tests can be performed to identify potential risk factors for injury. Programming can be developed based on injury risk assessments.
